我很喜欢的设计思路。2012的目标。现在图片都来自互联网，等我目标达成之后会发原创图片。

Koster的介绍是这样的：“It seems like I never get to make a knife and keep one for me to take camping with my family and my Boy Scouts.  I have carried larger, heavier knives out in the woods but like you probably know already, suffered from my shorts/pants constantly being dragged down, or having to cinch my belt so tight I got stomach cramps.  After doing this for a few years, I stopped carrying larger knives and would only use folding knives or smaller EDC-style fixed blades.  These worked great for whittling and light food prep, but fell far short for actual camp chores.  So, I started carrying 2 knives – one small one on the belt, one large one in the truck.  As you might expect, going back and forth between the campsite and my vehicle got pretty old fast.  Couldn’t there be a knife somewhere in between?  Something with a sizeable blade – large enough for brush clearing, wood cutting, food prep – and yet light enough to carry comfortably all day for several days over some serious mileage.
That’s what brought me to the MUCK.  It is in every way My Ultimate Camp Knife.  I didn’t start with someone else’s designs or even something of my own.  I went completely on feedback from guys that do the same thing I do – hike, cook and camp with their knives; sometimes over several days, up to 50-80 miles.  Since designing this knife it has traversed part of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail), the OHT (Ozark Highlands Trail) and even the AT (Appalachian Trail)…as well as others I’ve yet to hear back about.  The MUCK weighs in at 9-9.5 ounces depending on handle material.  The drilled-out full tang and high flat grind literally cuts the weight in half.  What could easily be a 1-pound-belt-dragging-monster is instead a knife that is barely heavier than a large folding knife – (Zero Tolerance zt302 weighs 8.6oz, Strider AR is 9oz, etc.) – yet has the strength and reach of a fixed-blade knife.  And it comes with a wide blade to give you just the right angle when chopping.
My design process on this knife is well documented and I’ll migrate that tutorial over here eventually.  For now you’ll have to read about it on my Forum and enjoy a few pictures here. ;-D”

所以我就搞了这个MUCK，我的终极野营刀。我没有从其他人的设计或我自己的设计入手，我完全基于和我干同样事情的家伙们那里得到的反馈——徒步，做饭，野营。有时候数天，50~80英里。自从设计了这刀，它已经走过了PCT (Pacific Crest Trail), the OHT (Ozark Highlands Trail) and even the AT (Appalachian Trail)…（貌似是些徒步线路。）没听说什么负面。

6″ of 3V steel, hardened to 60-61 HRc, 0.22″ thick, Flat grind, Swedge, Brushed finish on flats, satin-finish on grind, large guard, thumbgrooves, spine rounded at handle front
Handle Specs:
5.5″ long, made from 1/4″ thick handle material, aluminum corby pins, pommel strike with lanyard hole
All synthetic handles (Micarta, G10, etc) are heavily sandblasted for a super grippy better-when-wet finish
Only available in Micarta or G10

说说我怎么看上的这刀。
koster最值得称赞的有3：
1、3V钢之最便宜，君不见二手量产3V都要2000多，
2、打磨没得说，师承Krein，krein是USN著名的Grinding monkey，
3、丫东西不多，每款修改的很棒，柄型刃型非常舒服。

这款：柄型和刀型都对胃口，宽的刀刃，刃线平直。刃比柄略长，视觉平衡。
      拇指槽一向很犀利，戴手套都不滑。
            屁股后面居然一个破坏椎，刀尖带假刃。结合重心位置看，轻盈。我看老外对这个也有提出异议的，我觉得有个哥们说的挺有道理。
      如果作为一把生存刀来说的话，那么就不局限于一把“丛林刀”，也许需要自卫，面对的可能是动物也可能是人，也许需要破窗，谁预测的到呢。
      这个尺寸，无法具备劈砍能力（只能背敲），那么不影响强度的情况下，在一把生存刀上做出某些妥协，确实刀匠有他的想法。

刀背没有倒角，是犀利的。刮打火棒不在话下。

“柳树形刀片是一个很棒的选择。刀尖角度非常适合穿刺和钻孔，优美的刀腹曲线非常适合剥皮，同时那个最佳点后面有足够的留肉方便剁砍。”
There is an acute point for drilling or piercing, but lots of belly for skinning, and plenty of meat behind the sweet spot for chopping. （哥半吊子英文捉襟见肘了）

实测。

"有一个假刃，通常我不喜欢有这样一个假刃，但我在剁这把刀时学到了一些东西。假刃磨除最顶端的钢材，直接使重心偏向手柄，结果就是使它既有一把战斗博弈般的平衡感，同时还保留了刃部形状和绝大部分剁砍能力。这种感觉很像一把劈砍的弯刀。握持时没有疲劳感，你可以整天使用没有任何不适感。"

"照片显示了假刃对背敲的木头造成的伤害，但是我仍然认为假刃这样的设计是值得的。"

"接下来直接砍。轻重量的刀身降低了砍的威力，但是平衡感使得不容易疲劳，这是很好的妥协。"

"现在来看看刃的保持性。选择了这把刀略高于腹部的顶点。因为它在测试過程中使用最多，我开始牛仔裤上擦拭刀片清洁污垢。然后，我切片一些纸张（没拍照片，遗憾）我在我毛茸茸的手腕上测试锋利度...... it not only shave but even dry it wipes the hair off my wrist without irritating my skin at all!"（大意就是唰唰剃毛如飞吧）

"擦干净看刃口，干完这些粗活没有任何变化。"

剩下的懒得翻了。
