Well, I know a lot of you have heard of the Zero Tolerance 0888 with the S110V/14C28N Composite Blade that won 2012 Knife of the Year Award. I got the knife in today and it's a bit heavier than I thought it would be. I believe this has titanium handle. The design is very exotic and has many shapes. The design of the clip and how it goes on the knife is incredible. The blade has a good solid detent but not super strong strong. It is not anything like the original Zero Tolerance 0777. It's a nice easy smooth flipping action, not hard to flip at all. There is a stop lock bar on the top next to the pivot to stop the blade when it's fully open. The handle is beautiful but I'm not sure I like the blade finish. You can still see all the grind lines. And because of that and the angles of the blades, it is very hard to photograph this particular knife. it's a bit heaver than you would expect. But with a limited production of only 250 to be made, I would highly recommend you get one if you can find one. This one will be very hard to get and if you are able to get one, it will be very expensive.
Wow, congrats!
When did you preorder this peri? I saw someone posted that his 888 would arrive in a couple of days on Bladeforums, was that you?
Although I guess 888 is a little bit big for my hands, I wish they made a production run for it as everybody saying. Well, somniloquy. Anyway, it's really awesome.
No, that was not me on BLadeforums. I don't go in there. I was on the list for this for a long time. I'm also on the list for the 888MAX so I hope to get hat also. You really never know because I was on he list for the 777 with the composite blade and I didn't get any of those at all.
I don't know how KAI works or why they have short runs of some and not others. But it is a good knife.
This one is not like the other composite blades, did anyone notice where the two different steel are? It looks like one steel is in the middle instead of one on the upper part of blade and the cutting edge or the bottom part is the other steel. So this is dramatically different!
Here are some interesting pictures. The blade is thicker towards the tip so it will be stronger. The second pictures shows the nice even factory edge. The third picture shows the composite part of the blade and the 14C28N in the center. And in the last picture, you can see the screw on the inside, that's an amazing pace to put the screw that holds the pocket clip on the knife.
oh yes I was disappointed at that the composite blade 777 has been officially retired; nevertheless, the m390 model is not bad.
wish you get your 888max asap.

Reading English is as disgusting as eat bullshit in a Chinese forum.
I'm sorry I didn't know you were reading it in English. I open this forum in Chrome and it translates most things into English for me so I thought it would translate it into Chinese for everyone else.
I'm only here to inform people here about what they are buying and wanting to buy. Education and knowledge should be free and the more you know the smarter your decisions with your money can be especially because the price in China cost more than if you were in the United States. You can choose not to read anything I write or take any of my advise. I am lucky enough to have handled these in person and thought I would share my thoughts so you have an ideal without spending so much money.
Dan
A little word of advice, I wouldn't start threads in English on Knifriend as you will get a lot of negative feedbacks. Trust me man, been there, done that.
I also handled the proto at G4 last year and indeed it was an impressive knife. Huge congrats on a great blade!
